The Intelligence of the Heart
Posted by: | CommentsThe Heart has its reasons that Reason does not understand – Jacques Benigne Bossuel
On the occasion of Valentine’s day that has been so over commercialized in favour of promoting the merchandising of hearts, flowers and chocolates and all the gifts one can buy for one’s loved one, I would like to pay homage to the Human Heart.
That valuable human organ that has been so much romanticized by the poets and so medically reduced to a mere pumping machine that keeps us alive.
The human heart feels things that the eyes cannot see and knows things that the mind cannot understand. Modern scientists are unravelling the mysteries of the powerful intelligence of the heart and what this phenomenal miracle can do that far surpasses what we have ever learnt about it in the rational world. Making Changes: What is New about Your Year?
Posted by: | CommentsFor Last Years words belong to last year’s language and next year’s words await another voice – Little Gidding II
Another Year has come and gone. Did it bring us what we had hoped for at the start of the Year? Or was it just another Groundhog Year like every other year before that and where the only changes have been circumstantial.
Just like the movie ” Groundhog Day” where the main protagonist seems to be stuck in a time warp of sorts and keeps on waking up to the same day with the same events playing over and over endlessly with no way out. Until something changes.
That change comes from wisdom and the ability to respond to the same events differently, instead of moving endlessly on the same wheel like one of Pavlov’s experimental rats, without getting anywhere.
It is time to make a change and try something different, something new- and that time is now! Here’s how… Read More→
Failure: The Other Side of Success
Posted by: | CommentsFailure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently – Henry Ford
Failure is as predictable as success. In fact it is a science. You can study successful people to learn what to do by emulating what they did. Or you can study Unsuccessful people, learn from their failures and don’t do what they did. Either way, the ultimate outcome is still Success!
A keen observer of people, I have often been fascinated by what failures do to fail so brilliantly ! Some bounce back at top speed, not liking where they find themselves. Others wallow in it endlessly becoming a burden to all who know them and to society at large. Read More→
Barriers to Success
Posted by: | CommentsDon’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, is what you can achieve. – Mary Kay Ash
Our Educational system has us believing that if we want to be successful at something, we have to only to learn how to do it from the experts. That right there, unfortunately, is one of the barriers to success!
The very fact that we believe it is the only way to succeed , is what stops us in our tracks. We seek the experts and pay top dollar to acquire knowledge and “how to” methods from them. Yet we often fail to apply the lessons we learn, and when we do, each person can get dramatically different results which are often not consistent.
What makes each person’s level of success different? It is how they perceive themselves and the extent to which they believe in their own ability to succeed. Which proves my point that instruction alone is not sufficient! Read More→
The Fine Art of Volunteering
Posted by: | CommentsDon’t ever question the value of volunteers. Noah’s Ark was built by volunteers. The Titanic was built by Professionals. – Unknown
There is a time for volunteering or giving and a time for taking and striking a balance between the two, is a fine art form. Many give , and give generously- of their time, their unique value, their experience and their effort. Often this is given to family and friends, and the large hearted give also to the extended community of people who are less fortunate themselves. Volunteering flexes the emotional muscles of the heart and strengthens both the giver and the receiver.
When the gifts of volunteering are appreciated, both are blest. When respect and credit is given to the person who volunteers, be he ever so humble, it re-inforces that primordial instinct in mankind to give from their strengths in order to contribute to the world from their gifts. Read More→
